Parthus to supply games software to Microsoft

Dublin-based software designers Parthus Technologies today announced a licensing agreement with US IT company NVIDIA for its Parthus MediaStream DSP (Digital Signal Processor) technology.

NVIDIA's will in turn supply the Parthus technology for Microsoft¹s long awaited Xbox games console. The Xbox is scheduled for release next autumn.

"We are delighted to have been selected by NVIDIA for this important platform technology," said Mr Brian Long, Parthus chief executive officer.

Parthus specialises in licensing designs of microchips now being used throughout the mobile Internet market. The company employs 370 people in Ireland and abroad.

No financial details of today's agreement were released.
