Last week my IE on my college IT account went tits up.
Couldn't connect, couldn't do balls basically.
Downloaded Opera there yesterday, had a few teething problems (namely finding where to put in the proxy address and port) but got it up and running there yesterday.
    Works a beaut.
Renders pages faster and shows more detail about what it's doing.
I'm quickly falling in love with it and I'd reccomend anyone to try it for a week and see if they'll go back to IE or Netscape.
It renders Boards.ie a bit..a...'odd'.. but from what I've seen so far everything is there, if not in exactly the same spot.
    version info:
    Version
    6.0

    Build
    1010

    Platform
    Win32

    System
    Windows NT 4.0

    Java
    Sun Java Runtime Environment 1.3

I'm not actually too sure if it is installed fully, cos it got to about 60% yesterday and stopped, saying I wasn't allowed to do such-and-such a thing.
seems to be running well enough though.
Going to install it at home soon too.
I'd almost buy it too if I had a credit card

Congratulations. I'm glad you find it something interesting. Too often, we (as a people) find little interest in things.

In other words, was there a point to this post?

Of course there was a point in the post.... to recommend Opera to others and perhaps to suggest that people be less myopic in future and try more than just what they're used to.

Yes. Check out PPC's slightly smaller signature.

If you still don't get it, there is no help for you.

I'm going to delete it soon though, because I know how retarded it is.

Hah, those sigs people have with their pc specs and whatnot in them always strike me as very lame. I've not seen many of them on boards.ie, but some hardware-fanatic sites are full of that muppetry.

They're just an exercise in cock swinging.

It's that kind of intelligent commentary that brings me back to Boards.ie every single day, right after my Frosties.
