I need some help

    Here's what I want to do:

    I want to create a (picture) link to a file on a webserver.
    I have the IP address of the webserver, but when I try to access the link I get a broken link message.

    For example:
    http://123.456.789.12/images/face.gif

    Won't work.

    Any ideas ?

    Giving us a real IP address would help, and the hostname of the site where this picture is.

    There is no hostname, it's just got an IP address.

    You can't link directly from somebodies Comp unless they have a webserver running, I'd imagine...?

    It IS a web server/web site.

    If the server is running some variant of unix, the filename will be case sensitive. Have you got the right case in your link?

    And is the file in the right place? It would be helpful if you provided us with platform and software information.
