    Again we see that Boards.ie is a very educational tool. Thats a good post. I knew the one about the quick sand. Also a similsr one to No. 8 is in Star Wars a new hope where one of the the stormtroopers while coming into one of the rooms on the deathstar smacks his head of the off the top of the door!! It pretty funny!! I'll definetly have to watch ben-hur and try and spot the red car!

    i luv things like these but i also like an explantion for some. like the quick sand thing, why would that work? and the raisin.

    Flutterby is so much better.

    Seen that before, some deadly facts... always knew the one about the ducks quack....

    The quicksand thing - How Quicksand works

    I imagine it's the bubbles in the champagne that makes the raisin rise and it falls as the bubbles dissipate!? Anyone else know for sure?

    yup thats how the raisin thing works ....
    but the thing about the rule of tumb is not true...
