Communication program for vb6?

I am creating a gui for a milling machine and am having some problems. Using a command button we want to check if there is communication between the pc and the milling machine. The cable will be conected to com port 1 (9 pin). The baud rate of the milling machine is 9600, parity is odd, data bits is 8, and stop bit is 1.…

I've done something similar with the parallel port under linux, but that's of no use to you.

I'd be interested in hearing how you get on with that elwood, be sure to let us know.
