You could translate your £150 into a happy Webcam Go Plus. Get one off-the-shelf because the first edition of the software is nowhere as good as the late 2000 offering. Details:

    Hey Everyone,
OKey i got my digital camera. nice cheap too in Argos for £130.
    but now the trouble starts.

I cant get windows to regonize the bloody thing.
Ya can only connect it by the usb port.
But my modem was already there. So i got rid of the modem for a bit uninstalled it etc.
Slapped in the camera, wire, and tried to find drivers for it. I've tried all the ones that were on win98 but doesn't seem to make a difference.

Oh by the way the model of the camera its Premier or somethin dc520.
Don't know if that help ya help me out or anything.
I don't want any cracks bout it been cheap. maybe true but still fu*cking expecnsive for someone with no income.

    Soooooooooooooo,
any help or ideas ya got don't be shy to post them.

Thats why its £130 and came from argos..... Is there no driver disk with it??

If not its probally ****e, and you might be better off leaving it back.

Did you remive the modem, connect the camera while turned on, a do a cold reboot. Does windows reconise thats its there but cant find drivers??

    Mmmmmmm,
There were just twain drivers, which i already had. I installed them anyway. and there was some picture editors stuff liek that.

Mmmmm no windows doesn't detect it at all when its turned on or booted.

    So tongue.gif i dunno.
I think i will bring it back.

So Windows isn't detecting it at all?

Have you tried making sure the camera was on before plugging it in?

Have you tried starting up the software that came with it(assuming there is any) and seeing if the camera can be installed from there?

Did you RTFM? (Read The Fuc*ing Manual)

Apart from that I have no ideas.

    Hey Everyone,

    Thanks for you help,
i finally got it working, at last!!!

There was something wrong with one of the connecting wires. ALl sorted now.

Oh by the way anyone looking for a cheap digital camera. THAT WORKS smile.gif
Argos have a few but there is a Kodak one for £100. That can hold 128 pics at 640*400 res.

Dixons also have a few good ones, one for bout £120 that has a higher res and takes 2mb cards.

    Cheers,
