Would these "people" be clients ? If so, I think just a content management system is best, as not to let them "mess-up" you're loverly web page. You can find a few on SourceForge.

I think that DHTML(php) editor looks good. Downloading it now to test it on some sites. Let you know later...

Well you could class some people as paying clients, some as non paying.

I was looking into content management systems but I don't know would it be worth it for a few pages. It would just be to make minor updates to one or two pages.

Yellum, I've tested that WYSIWYG ieeditor[1] and it really is the biz as regards a solution for allowing computer challenged clients edit their site with little training due to the fact that it's just like editing in Word. With a wee bit of custom php programming it would be a handy thing-e-ma-gig.

Why dont you just specify the application in the internet options in IE and then use whatever editor you want

While I wouldn't condone its use...MS word is the simplest way to actaully get "something" onto the web- of course it all depends on what you want to achieve

[or am I missing the point of this thread?]

or am I missing the point of this thread?

Reckon so. These guys are talking about embeddable editors, i.e. editors embedded in the webpage. Very handy for content management and the like.

Word is a really bad editor to use for /anything/ on the web. Really bad. You should know better 80p. :)

Just found this Editor which looks quite well too but at the moment will only work with IE6, which is a balls for anyone with windows95 as IE6 won't install on it.

As for word, it can actually be a good editor if you use this:

Nice filter for removing all the garbage that office sticks in. Downloading it now and installing it.

That filter looks handy Yellum, but it looks like its only available for Office 2000 and not Office XP :(

I'll keep an eye out for it though:)

I thought Office XP had it built in... I'll install it on my other machine and see.

    You're right... It is :)

    I hadn't checked- Cool Thx

[edit- even w/ the filter- still some MS junk included though:(]

'S probably like the filter in DW, removes the "proprietry" (you know what I mean) stuff but not the inline styles and suchlike. Find and Replace... :)
