    Not the best band since sliced bread, but one that was instrumental(no pun intended) in the 1980s and early 1990s in shaping how rock/metal was viewed.

    Most of their albums have at least one "classic" song on them that will probably stand the test of time.

    Appetite for Destruction (well .. just about the whole bloody album :D)

    what's happening with this new Guns N' Roses?
    i hear it is Axl and a load of new people.
    are they touring at all?
    when is Chinese Democracy being released?
    is it true that that Wes formerly of Limp Bizkit has joined them?

    First off, they are the best band ever! :D

    Did you hear Axl has once again sacked another producer? Hehe...he's such a poof! :D. This will probably cause Chinese Democracy to delay again.

    The new GnR have done 4 shows in all. Oh, and Dizzy Reed is still in the band...remember? that hairy dude on the keyboards?

    the first show was on New years day 2001 in The House Of Blues, Vegas.

    The 3rd was at the Rock in Rio concert on Janurary 14th.

    And 2 more shows were done just 2 months ago in December at the Hard Rock Cafe in Vegas, which Slash was going to see but Axl found out about it and said that if he gets in to the concert he would walk off stage...so Slash didn't go in the end.

    And that Limp Biscuit dude ain't in GNR, its some other freak with a KFC bucket on his head...i'm serious.

    I did like Appetite For Destruction when it came out, but soon got pissed off with it

    I think back to when they were all about the place, everytime you turned on the radio/MTV they were on it

    I went to see them in Slane in '92 (well I went more for Faith No More:) ) and it was such a bore:mad:

    The bloody drum solo went on for about half an hour - I'm a drummer myself and was bored ****less.

    Axl Pose should just crawl back into the hole he came from and stay there:p

    I thought the drum solo was cool. He got everyone in the audience to join in did he not. And then Gilby and Duff joined in drumming, then Duff got out his bass and started this bass solo over the drums, and then Slash did this cool Guitar solo. 'Twas cool me thought!

    But they must of had around like 60-70 songs, and what was so cool is that not one of the songs sounded like another. They were always unique, and i reckon that is one hell of an achievement.

    I mean they all came from different backgrounds with different influences like:

    Axl - Elton John
    Slash - Rolling Stones
    Duff - Sex Pistols

    Their differnces were probably the key to why they were so good. Shame it caused them to start kicking each others arses and then split up.

    I was never huge fan when they were mega in the late 80's/early 90's but listening to their stuff nowadays does make me think they rank highly up there in terms of rock music history-

    But should one factor longevity into greatness??

    I like use your illusion 1 more than appetite, more musical methinks, like wth coma and bad apples, they are all great musicians, just that if axl shut his hole live they would've been so much better, greatest band, i'd have to say no..even though i want to say yes... but they were one of the best rock and roll bands ever, and led zeppelin.

    "Axl" was the band Axl was in before he moved to LA, thats how he got that name, he changed his name from Bailey to Rose after he found out that his real fathers surname was Rose.

    Anagram for Oral Sex, pfffft, pure coincidence.

    I think they were one of the best Rock bands ever and could have been so much better if Axl hadn't lost the plot completely. The guys gone pretty nutty. They had such a good line-up. Axl, Slash and Izzy were really talented but my god that band was lazy, look at how long it took for Use Your Illusions to come out.
