    I see that the ODTR has put out
    a document (odtr02/16) on wireless LANs,
    asking for comments by March 8 (2002).

    I'm wondering if IrelandOffline
    is planning to make
    (or maybe already has made)
    a sumission to the ODTR.

    Incidentally, there used to be
    a mailing list devoted to Irish WLANs --
    is it still in existence?

    I note the following passage
    in the ODTRs document:

    =================================

    Residential Users

    WLANs offer a means of low-cost broadband access for residential users.
    This may be particularly important in rural areas where alternative
    broadband access may not be readily available. Typically, WLAN
    technology is used by residential users for Internet access, connected
    to other telecommunications networks (e.g. via an Internet Service
    Provider).
