Is eur270 the standard prive for the Audigy Platinum ?? Is there anywhere doing them cheaper than that in Dublin ??

I can go that much .. but it seems way more than the £130 quoted in the Sunday times .. who claimed the player was £90 ...

    Anyway .. . any ideas I'd love..

I think he means that the Audigy platinum was quoted at 130, while the audigy player was quoted at 90 - 2 different products.

pabcas, unless you need a firewire link I'd look for a second hand SB Live Platinium you still get the Live Drive the only thing you dont get is 24 bit playback.

The firewire's the reason I'm willing to upgrade my sound card ...

    I have a SB 128PCI at the moment ...

Also, the Audigy chip apparenly beats the ass of the Live one...

    lol
you, my furry friend, just 0wn3d your own pants.

If it's only firewire you're after, why bother with creative?
Get a dedicated Firewire card, will have more then one port one it(possibly 3) and won't have th awkwardness of Creative tripe.

Adaptec do a decent card I hear. only about €70 if i remember correctly
