Mouse driver conflicts in XP

Microsoft, god bless their hearts, want me to send error reports every 10 minutes becuase my in-built touch pad mouse is having issues with my USB infra-red one. Gotta love XP. Anyone know if this is an XP bug (haven't found a patch fixer yet) or is just a genuine bona fide driver conflict. Ideas?
