    Persephone, as I had previously hinted, was quite partial to a spot of old croquet on the lawn. She had, of course, to wear her scruffy shoes, so as not to accidentally soil her new pair of stilettos. They were given to her by Sir Bainbridge yestersummer and all did agree that they possessed an eloquent continence.
