the standard winamp wont convert wma into mp3s, nor will it even convert them to wav using the standard disk write plugin as for some reason that only works for mp3s.

Just a side note, I burn a LOT of MP3's (All my own stuff...... smile.gif....Actually that's true) but have heard WMA is better (Smaller/same quality) - have any of you guys done some decent comparisons?

from two adam sandler tracks i have:
    The Thanksgiving Song.wma : 3595kb, 128kbit
    The Thanksgiving Song.mp3 : 3574kb, 128kbit

in this case the larger filesize of the wma is down to the additional extended information that the format can store.
however at larger bitrates (>192) I'd guess that it would be smaller.

also the wma seems to have more depth to it in terms of sound, wouldn't mind checkin this out with a decent track though.
