    what would i need to connect 2 windows 2000 servers in one building to a linux server in another building?

    1 hub and 2 very long cables.
    either that and a couple of routers and a switch and a connection of your choice (isdn, modem, cable, chaingang)

    what do you mean when you say interpret between the servers?

    they'll talk tcp/ip to each other fine,
    so you could telnet from the win2k box to the linux one.
    if you want to share drives across the machines you can use samba.
