I have a lot of kiddie vid8 on tape and an athlon800 with CDR fitted..... What's the best 'middle bit' to get a decent 640x480 mpeg1 file out of????

what's kiddie v8?

the only programs I've ever heard of to do that are commercial ones costing 300 - 400 pounds
