so i have a domain name registered with, say, namesecure

after it expires, and IF i did not want to repurchase now, would the name go back into the available pool or would namesecure own it for good ?

Generally domains go back in about 40 days or so. However Network Solutions can be fairly dodgy in this respect and some domains that expired a few years ago have not been put back in the pool.

If you want to tag your domain, use http://www.snapnames.com. That will monitor your domain name and will e-mail you changes to your whois data (if any) every week. The first indication that the domain is about to be deleted is that it drops out of the zone file (becomes invisible on the net). Then the whois data is deleted and the domain should go back in the pool.

    Regards...jmcc
