I know we have some odtr types around so maybe yo ucan explain thsi to me.

you go on and on about your limited power and how you want to mak internet more competitive. well percentage interconenction rates seem the way to go.

In stead of having a friaco system, why no a percentage one, were the fee eircom recives is perportional to the amount charged to the end users. seems firm. so say someone brings out a flate rate service and charges 30 euro a month for it, eircom can get 10 a month but if someone brings one out and charges 27 euro eircom only get 9 euro a month. seems logical and very competition geared. isnt this how a capitalized country should operate

Devil's Advocate Scenario No.1: Adam and Fergus set up "Screw Eircom Internet Services" and apply for a licence. Their first product is flat-rate Internet access at one euro a month. Eircom get 60 cent, and run the service at a loss. Adam and Fergus giggle their asses off. Etain Doyle frowns and sacks the person responsible for the idea.

restricted to those with ability to provide a service.

no matter what you have to pay wadges and buy equipment and licenses arnt that easy to come by, unless you and fergus have a cuple hundread grand under your beds somewhere.

You have to cover you variable costs from day to day just to keep the serivce online even if your makeing a huge loss
