it doesnt really matter about what score you got because with comptia tests its either pass or fail, but its nice to know.

true true, but 2 questions wrong out of 66 isnt bad going :)

mind you, its an easy test. im suppose to be doing the a+ exams now as that will qualify for the elective exam for the msca.
and from there an mcse in xp.
    and from there the world.....

but i reckon the a+ exam is harder.
like who want sto know about arp commands is bad enough, but who the hell wants to know what the memory address of a bloody graphics card is.
    and theres two of them!
maybe i will go with the linux + one until i can convince the employeers to send me on xp courses

    wwm

Going same route at the moment doing m/s elective thingy
just wondering why you picked A+ instead of server +

Had a brief look at both and thought server + would be better
cus there aint all that annoying tables and s**t to learn plus the server + would look better on me cv compared to a+
also the stuff in server plus looks like usefull stuff to know and if your going the mcsa/mcse route youll be doing it all anyway

anyway just thought you might know somethin i dident about the exams you could tell me

Also you doin them on your own or with an e learning centre /
    private course??:rolleyes:

because the elective is A+ with network +

    or

    A+ with server+

so either way you have to do the A+ exam.

im doing them on my own.
www.mcsebraindump.com is very useful. use the transdump thingy, its pretty good, plus i used trancenders as well as the book.
    read book once.
    do questions.
    revise unknown questions
    take exam,
    pass exam

the A+ is extremely easy, i glided through it, the main things are IRQ's once you know all of em, the rest is common knowledge if you are into computers.

just searched comptia site i had thought it was the other way around ..sorry

I went to one of those e-learning centers for the net+ ,thought
it would be easier than learning at home , and that I would learn all insider tricks and stuff...greatest waste of my money ever

i never felt so done in all me life and for a fee of 800 euro which didient even include the exam fee , it turned out to be another
    200 euro .... a load of s"@t
    that really pissed me off

    anyhoo ,
from now on its study at home for me

    i would agree wiht you.
unless you are doing some sort of certified course, then the other ones are a waste of money.
home study is fine for these sorts of exams, althought the comptia exams really are expensive. 165 quid sterling i paid for the network + exam (although i can claim back through expenses) and 100 quid for each of the A+ ones. i will have to make sure i pass both first time.....

    just a thought
i wonder how many of the people who surf the boards are doin exams..id say quite a few

if we got all those people together we could swap exam info
help people who are doin exams we have doin , and get help
    from other people as well
I Mean isent that kinda what the boards does anyway but we could do it for more technical Qs like the ones in exams rather than broad topics
kinda like our own exam site/ helping thing

anyway got to go home now ..more tomorrow

    Sooo WWM
i take it , the other admins didnt like the idea of a study board

    whisper whisper
"maybe if i flood the boards with exam questions and sign all the other mods up to exam databases where they get sent questions every day at exactly 2:36 and again at 5:13, untill
they submit to our demands , and give us a study board and a surprise ...."

other person : Yea thats a great idea

someone else : woo yea go for it

totally different guy : keep it quite ,im tryin to sleep

other person agian : grumble , grumble

I really want to be a Director, what ya think?????

i have the A+ book and im sure i have the brain dumps somewhere which are very helpful.
i think i may even have the network+ and server+ ones somewhere.
i might stick em on a cd and post them off to someone to put up on the web somewhere.

oh, the a+ book used was the mocrosoft one, however, i would go for one that has free trancenders or exam questions with it.

When doing the Server and Professional exams, i used the Test Pro study software, free for download, theyre questions and answers that give you an explanation of why the answer is right or wrong
