First of all i think the program is crap and i'd say this forum will be totally dead in a month at least. Second of all in the two episodes ive seen i saw that its set in the present day(i dont think they had imacs in the 70s/80s). Wasnt vanilla superman set in the present day? Like all series this one is totally contradicting the comic/cartoon. Kill it!

I beg to differ. Superman has been updated many times in the comics, John Byrne's saga updated the Supeman legend to the then present (well the 70's/80's as it was then), but of course Superman was originally from the 30's - this is a similar reworking of Superman to the 90's/00's.

Having never watched the programme I don't if its good or not, but how the hell did it get its own board? There loads of other shows on the television that have a much bigger following! Stargate for example!

    cloud,
lets put it like this. The superman comic at the moment (2002) afaik is set in the present day. This program(which is recent and new episodes i presume are still being made) about supermans youth is also set in the present day. They could at least make the effort for them to tie in. its different to them updating the 30's comics or whatever because that was a different present day if you know what i mean

I think it's cool that its set in the present day - means that the story does'nt have to turn out exactly the way we know it!

Check it out people - it's a cool series!

i quite like it too and I dont think it detracts from the shows goodness just because its set in the present day.

I'm not saying I agree with Stereo Steve, but I completely agree with Stereo Steve. What is this toss doing with its own board? Ok, Kelly Brook has a big chest. But we have seen this chest elsewhere and in more photographic detail. I say dedicate a board to the chest if you have to, but include a few nice snaps of same. Don't dress it up with your interest in the drama, nothing's that good.

I say if there's going to be a smallville board, make a porno warez board too. There's more interest there.

My god if you're that passionate about smallville getting its own forum you'd better contact the admins and get them to refund the subscription fee you payed to use this site.

The colours are tough on the eye though, but its not a bad idea for forums to have different themes.

its a nice scheme, cant diss it. what probably happened is someone that doesnt even post on this board just saw that he could have a free forum with **** all advertising for his site. if more people did it they'd have to charge for them after a while.

Haha! I own kryptonian.com (not online yet) and am a director of boards.ie, so don't worry about me not being paid! I must see about darkening the blues though, I know my screen is quite dark so perhaps it is too bright for others (will check at home, at work now).

Easy equation; Cloud likes Smallville. Cloud runs boards.ie. Ergo, Cloud can do what the hell he likes with boards.ie, including and not limited to creating a brand new Smallville forum. Not too hard to follow?

If you want a Buffy community board or some such, noone's stopping you asking for it in the Admin area.

I watched the first couple of episodes a while back, certainly had potential; it's not really my kind of thing, but I can see it getting very popular (felt exactly the same about the first few episodes of Buffy).

The first few episodes were promising but its becoming mediocre.

Each episode is like the last, following a predictable format.

    new baddie,
    flirts with lana.
discovers baddie brought about by the affects of kryptonite,
    flirts with lana.
threatens to hurt/maim, clark/friends of clark,
    flirts with lana.
clark saves the day and barely keeps his identity secret,
    makes lex more suspicious
    flirts with lana.

In fairness it think that the fact that it is set in present day doesnt detract from the quality of the show either.
If anything it adds to it.

btw 2040 can you just imagine the problems they would have making the comic and tv prog tie in?
The whole project would prolly just end up failing.

Finally could someone clear this up for me, back a couple of years i remember seeing something on the news about superman being split into red superman and blue superman, is that storyline still going or did it fail?

To be fair, the baddie in the most recent episode was from Lex's past - no connection with kryptonite.

What I really can't understand is why Lana dates that loser Whitney. It's just too implausible.

Oh yeah, how come Clark doesn't experiment with the flying thing. He discovered he could do that right back at the start but he doesn't seem the least bit curious if he can control it. I'd be all over that.

The blue/red Superman thing is over, it started with Supes having a new suit and electric powers, and then some story arc with the Titans coming to destroy us all and one of the two Supermans sacrificing themselves; anyway some cosmic intervention resulted in the original Superman being returned to the Earth.

Unfortunately I dont have much money for comic books, but if the original superman returned to earth, why did he have electric supermans costume (im assuming that electric superman was the one with the blue costume)??
