    anybody use their flatrate weekend dial-up service? diconnection times exist ? what kind of speeds available?

    i've got there full-time access
    disc times are 2hrs
    download on 56k is 4k constant (v.stable)
    i connect generally at 49333bps

    I've got their 2 way network
    costs £20 for the two phone lines, internet access and the basic cable channels
    I connect at 55,367bps
    and my download rates are at a constant 7.2kb/sec if on irc it usually jumps from 7.1 to 7.2
    and this is quite nice I think biggrin.gif

    i have a ****e modem so i get laggy stop and start connections a laggy irc connection and 2k a sec downloads. I need a modem frown.gif

    well its a "rockwell" cepot its amde by some ****ty company called E Com or something, and i have the latest drivers that are 2 years old.

    Rockwell chips are great... if its hardware its just your ****e phone line not the modem...

    Back off the modems lads... they have feelings too

    the diconnection times r 2 hrs, but 20mins if u r not usin the net. i connect at 54.6 all the time, and download a 6-7kb/sec

    Guys just wondering this flat rate from NTL is it unmetered 24/7 or just during weekends?
    Also is it available all over ireland or just in perticular areas? As im in ye old roscommon lol.If its a dialup then surely ya can access it from anywhere?

    what we are talking about is
    its 24/7 unmetered dialup connection
    but you can only get it if u'r on ntl phone.

    so only of your area has the option.

    afaik there is a general dialup one, but its only at weekends
