Well the students have gone on "strike" in my school so i taught i'd nip into the computer room on the sly and dl Mirc smile.gif
    But i can't connect to irc.b0rk.co.uk or irc.barrysworld.com ...

    *** Connecting to irc.dal.net (6666)
    -
*** Unable to resolve IRC server
    -
    *** Connect retry #1 irc.dal.net (6660)

*** Unable to resolve IRC server

I think it's something to do with the network, dose anyone know a way to get around this ?

Preferibly without ****ing up the computer smile.gif

See if you can find any web-based irc thingys (java applets). I think Netshop has one...

It's more than likely the firewall that blocking the IRC connection.

    All the best,

Check out http://www.swoush.com/ for a web based irc client that will go through your firewall.

Its not as nice as mirc but it does the job.

If you download http-tunnel from htt://http-tunnel.com and set it up (read the helpfile with it) then you will probably be able to use IRC.

I am also behind a firewall.

I tried http://www.swoush.com/ and it does work for me only it doesn't load up the main screen dialoge box :/.

    ermm .. for http tunneller

What specifically do I put in

    Servername / IP : ?
    Port : 8080

Do I tick "No proxy / only a firewall" ?
Do I tick proxy requires authentication ?

if so what user/pass does I use ?

Bit new to this mombo jombo ..
