While I see it as a futile exercise I've gone and signed it anyway.
I'd encourage other ppl to do the same regardless of whether you think its worthwhile or not.

I've signed it too. Looks good. But where is this being sent? There is absolutely no point in sending it to Eircom, Chorus, NTL or any of the other companies. They already know there is demand for these services but are unwilling to make the capital commitments to enable the services to be provided. As they are monopolies, they have no fear of other companies comming in and offering better services.

It needs to be sent to the ODTR and Government ministers (you'll need to print it out for them!) and the IDA. Mary Rourke, Mary Harney and Bertie might be good choices.

Good chance of succeding, I think.

Just to let you know that some of the ilug (irish linux users group - bah bloody penguins - http://www.linux.ie/ ) and some people on the iiu list ( http://iiu.taint.org/ ) are working on plans for a campaign to get broadband.

Perhaps joining forces we can get something done
