    Ok there are an awful lot of terms used in ram, would anyone like to explain some?Like what ECC means, whast the diff between cas 2 and cas3?

    ECC stands for Error Correction and Control.

    The kinda memory you might use in Servers; because it basically double-checks all the bits pumped through for any possible errors/problems and it tries to correct 'em... but as a result doesn't have quite the same throughput as non-ECC memory. Something like a 2-3% reduction in performance.

    CAS2 and CAS3 basically refer to the latency of the Memory.. something like lag while playing online games. CAS2 being slightly faster than CAS3. Essentially though it's only important for the initial burst of Data going through the memory; so it's not that important in most cases.
