Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Personally I'd pick neither, I think they are both not funny and stiller just has no talent whatsoever. I will give Jim the talent factor though. I guess if I was held at gunpoint and made to choose or die, I would say jim carey.
    :D

Jim Carrey was amazing in Man On The Moon.
That just about made me cry.
    As did The Truman Show.

While he's actualy a ****e comedian, he can seriously act when he wants to.

And Stiller was quite good in Mystery Men.

    Pretty much what AW said.
    Carrey definitely is talented/

Well I thought the whole movie mystery men sucked so I cant comment on his acting there :) I've never seen a movie with stiller that I liked.
now Jim, the mask was good and i liked liar liar. and even dumb and dumber but the rest of his stuff leaves something to be desired for myself anyway. :)

    Jim Carrey is better

Stiller is much better, at least he can write. Jim Carrey is nothing but a second rate Jerry Lewis impersonator. The only time ive ever not been nauseated by one of his performances was The Trueman Show (which was just an average performace).

Andy Kaufman has the same effect on me so i hated the Man on the Moon.

Ben Stiller is , in my opinon, a class act! As is Jim Carrey!!

I hate when people give out about comedians because their jokes are either corny/outrageous...the main thing is they both make you laugh!

Jim Carrey has a great presence on the screen in comedies...look at Ace Ventura for the madcap comedy!

Look at Zoolander, with Ben Stiller really taking the piss...that's the type of film where you don't think, just enjoy.

I think that they are both talented and funny...for one of those stupid-humour-lots-of-laughs type night!

Jim Carey easily, especially for that bit in dumb and dumber
where he's dreamin about ur one and she comes through the door with doves flying behind her and good vibrations playin, then hugs her and checks what she's wearing under her skirt, classic!

What other things stiller in besides mystery men, that fashion thing and meet the parents?

    Stiller I'd say.

I mean Zoolander wasn't great but Stiller kicks ass in everything. Theres Something About Mary ruled and Meet the Parents was class.

Carrey is moving on from comedy to roles like Man in the Moon and so forth.

Carrey is just a wild, out-there kind of peformer, who can tackle the serious roles as well as the funny stuff (Truman Show, Man on the Moon). Dumb and Dumber is probably the funniest film ever made (gonna get some flak for that), but in some roles he can be a little annoying (Batman Forever).

Stiller is quite a gifted director (Cable Guy and Reality Bites) and writer (if anyone has ever seen The Ben Stiller Show which ran in the early Ninties, you'll know what I mean). His performance in Meet the Parents was class and his Mission Impossible 2 skit, where he played Cruise's stunt double was priceless.

If I had to choose, though, Carrey wins.

Like AW said, Jim Carrey can be really really good when he's serious. I liked Ace Ventura et al before, but they just seem a little lame thinking back.

Ben Stiller is brill. Go see the Royal Tenenbaums if you haven't already, it's the weirdest film in a while, but I really enjoyed it :)

My favourite is Jim Carrey for Liar Liar and Ace Venture, I'd love to see his serious films,

Jim Carrey was excellent in "Me, Myself and Irene". The scene where he was fighting himself in the car and managed to throw himself onto the road was fantastic. He's extremely talented!
Ben Stiller was absolutely terrible in meet the parents. And so was Robert deNiro (and I hate to say it because he is a great actor, one of the best). The movie was awful in general.

Peter Sellers owns all their asses.

    Stiller by faaar
He comes from good comedic stock- his Dad, Jerry Stiller played Frank Costanza in Seinfeld.

Jim Carey is loud and just plain annoying, IMO
