    I've found an otherboard with 4 yes 4 ide controllers !!!!
    2 or ata-66 and the other 2 are ata-100
    i'm having it checked now to see if i can use all of the controllers at once , but appently there is another board that will do this and it's used in certian smoketowers !!!

    Talk about something that ROCKS !!!!

    just the same as having an ide controller card, without the use of a pci slot smile.gif

    most boards with the RAID moniker have one, they've been around ever since the days of the BP6, and yes u can have 8 HD's or, any combination of HD's, CD-ROM's etc

    The board in question is a Dual-Bios board. A bit of a rarity cos nobody really saw the point. I mean if you've got that many drives you might as well get scsi.

    Please identify what exactly a "certian smoketower" is.

    Just I wasn't aware that the BP6 had two bioses, each one can obviously just manage two IDE controllers.

    It's a system used for Dr replication, and duplication ...
    the reasone i want it on IDE is that i can cut the cost of building the machine......
    however this would only be an entry level Tower ...
