ODTR issues Eircom with LLU deadline

    Eircom have been issued with a 1 MONTH deadline for Local-Loop Unbundling by the head of the Office of the Department of Telecommunications Regulations, Etain Doyle, according to Volta NetGains...:

    [Translation] Eircom has roughly a year give or take a month until it will actualy have to do anything.Expect to see courts saying bla bla expect Eircom to say bla bla.Expect to see many more posts like this one. frown.gif

    yes, they will still stall the issue, the ODTR will wave its big twig around but nothing will happen.

    Anyway, after seeing the difficulties BT had introducing ADSL in Britain, dont for a second be fooled by ESAT's hype that if they had access to the exchanges tomorrow, that they have an offering ready to go. If Eircom were to say "Allright Lads, heres the keys, get in there and do what you like" I think you will find it would be at least 6 months before a retail offering was available.
