Right, I've a Win95 machine running a prog called PPPShare to access another machine on a LAN (running Win98), in order to use the second machines internet conn for web browsing.

However, on starting IE 4.0 on the client comp, an error message 'Unable to locate site (whatever site). An internal error occured in the Windows Internet extensions'.

    Any way around this?

sounds like you might need to reinstall tcp ip. You can do this from the network control panel, just make sure you have the windows disk.

You might have to download the dial up networking patch for 95.
That could be the problem as its one of the differences between 95/98 in terms of net access.

That or the proxy settings arent set properly in IE4s options.

After a combination of reinstalling TCP/IP, setting proxy settings properly and reading the instructions for the sharing proggie smile.gif I got it working.

So that means I will now do absolutely no work whatsoever in the average day - cheers lads smile.gif
