A good online computer components store ? was thinking of overclockers but the sterling/euro conversion makes it nearly 80% more expensive...

and thought that dabs.co.uk and tekheads.co.uk were cheaper.

It should only be 62% dearer after the conversion to €.

    ~1.62 to 1

And UK prices are far cheaper to start with.

    Go check your figures.

    Bad card.
Any GF4MX is ment to be a little more powerful than a GF2Ti
    Get a GF3Ti 200. Its a better card

The high-end GeForce 4 MX's aren't actually that bad, particularly if you're paying the same or just over the price of a GeForce 2 Ti.

Personally, I'd go with a GeForce 3 Ti 200 and O/C it if I was going for a reasonably priced card (which I don't think I'll ever be doing again, because I am mad) but if the price difference is too much don't bother.

the gef4 MX 420 uses sdram which will put it's performance level close to that of the gef2 mx, and not even at the gef2 gts level (the first gef2 ever released).

the 440 or 460 would be a much better proposition

Just changed it for the 440 which uses ddram for a mighty €3 extra :D

    A worthwile investment.

THE MX420's SDR RAM (Bandwidth: 2.7GB/Sec) would be a big bottleneck for card performance. The DDR Version has more than double the bandwidth (Bandwidth: 6.4GB/Sec).
