What are the differences between AGP 1.0 and AGP 2.0?

Can a AGP 2.0 work in a AGP 1.0 Slot?

What ways, if any, are there around the incompatibilties?

normally a 2.0 card will work in a 1.0 motherboard, since the 1.0 boards still support agp 2x. However, do not try a 1.0 graphics card in an intel i845 board, since the board does not support the 3.3v cards, and will short motherboard and/or graphics card.

Also, remember google is your friend:

Big informative section in this months PCW (Personal Computer World) about it. About eur5.50 or thereabouts in your local easons.

    Explains it quite well.

Or you could just surf the net for much less than 5.50 and find out much more information.

    And here's Intel's AGP 3.0 Interface Specification. (May 2001)

    Very technical though.
