metallica came in at the end of the 80's and wrote their best music then in my opinion. the 80's were pretty crap for music though.

    None of the above.

What about the Cult? (admittedly they were trying their damndest to be a 60s/ 70s rock band in the 80s)

Or ZZ Top? (admittedly a 70s rock band who made it big in the 80s)

Or Zodiac Mindwarp - okay, so they only had one hit but it was a great one!!

Guns n Roses are the masters here. Musically and commercially they were the best rock band in a long time, and I don't think I've seen a match for 'em yet.

Given only these options I would have to say Guns 'n Roses were my rock gods of the '80's. My mate had a hamster called Axl and I had a goldfish called Slash.

Guns and roses are the best were the best and will allways be the best.

I utterly agree with Lolo above. It has to be the Cult. Christ, there's not a month that goes by without me thinking of that drum roll in the middle of "Big Neon Glitter" from the "Love" album. Ahhh, they don't make 'em like they used to... well, they do, only not as good, or something. Erm...

i hasnt to mention that AC/DC got no mention.

Surely Back in Black was the biggest selling album ?

but from the list, i go with Motley Crue
