How do i go about being made mod for the collecting forum, i suggested the board a while back and it seems to be doing alright.

I believe Castor Troy has to nominate you, or you have the know how to initiate the /amp test*(C)...i dunno, its impossible to do it.

As my learned co-mods have already done the best gags it is left to me to give the real answer:

The creation of moderators is entirely down to the Admins. Usually DeVore or Cloud. Wether it happens or not is entirely in their capable hands.


It also helps if you give good head. AHH I CAN'T HELP IT!

Nothing else seems to inspire replies like a thread about becoming a mod.

Maybe for the sake of fun a "Mod waiting list" should be started. That way users could complain about why Cloud, DeV and anyone else who might have a say in mod appointments rate them all so lowly.

To become a good moderator, you have to learn how to delete posts. Try with your own first.

Or continually hit refresh on the admin board until someone says something like "I want a owners who dress thier dogs up in tutu's" forum, and nominate yourself on the second post.

hmmm, the whole "how do I get to be a mod" question is a little odd.

Really you dont. Nothing you can do is going to alter our decision. Except harrass us to pick you as a mod of course. That gets a million negative points already.

Also, the person who suggests the board really has NO SPECIAL GOD GIVEN RIGHT to be the mod.
Everyone should get that idea out of their heads straight away.

Lately we've been waiting a while before handing out moderatorship on a forum
a. to see if it takes off.
b. to see who is REALLY interested in the topic, helps others, posts interesting stuff and is regularly on.

We'll make a decision sometime and then make someone mod. It'll happen out of the blue simply because I probably get a few minutes some Saturday afternoon.

We've a load of new mods to pick (or old ones to assign new boards too) so it will be a while.

One thing though, there is NOTHING SPECIAL about being a mod, you are just a caretaker... janitor etc. there is a DELETE mod button just beside the MAKE mod button
I cant believe people are so eager to be mods, I have to wonder if they are that keen on the topic of the boards in question or if they just want to be mods for some self agrandisement.

i also agree that making cards of yourself by yourself is quite sad. but then again, Bomb wants to warp out sense of reality
