This is like when people say "Do you remember where you were when you heard JFK or John lennon had been shot?"

But since I wasn't around for the first and was still trying master the art of walking upright when lennon was shot, Kurt Cobain was the one I remember......It's hardly earthshattering....I was listening to the Dave Fanning Show and he was interviewing Buffalo Tom.....that's it !!!!!

Obviously a big loss....but I think he would have killed himself eventually, whether he was a famous rockstar of a road sweeper

I didn't say I stopped listening to em. I didn't say that I disliked em. I said that I liked em, I said that Yesterday don't mean ****.

And to get over it. Kurt is dead. That is that... no point in bringing the subject up every single year. They don't do that for Jimi or anyone else. Look on to the future. People say that the bloody Queen Mother is gettin too much attention and all that bull****. And I agree with them. Why treat Kurt that way? You are nothing but hypocrites. Let Kurt rest in peace. End of story.

And I said he WAS my idle back in the day until he did what he did. Which I thought was extremely selfish and gave out a very negative message to the younger fans of Nirvana. Are you gonna agree with me on this?

i think what he meant was that you used "idle", as in slacker layabout, etc etc, rather than "idol", as in object of respect/admiration etc etc, which i assume you meant.

it was just pointless pedanticism- idle/idol big whoop- we understood what you were trying to convey without the need for the english lesson from whoever that was- i forget!

although, i can't say i agree with what you were saying about celebrating kurt cobain's life after his death. certainly, people need to move on, but if we said "what's done is done- he's dead now" about every musician who dies, noone would listen to music from years ago, or published posthumously, and the music scene would have no room to develop and grow from that music's influence- also there'd never be any classical music!!!

and besides, people DO do that for jimi, and elvis, and jim morrisson, and rory gallagher, and jeff buckley, and........the list goes on!:alien:

hmmm... I agree with alot of what you are saying there. But you see I am saying that "whats done is done, he's dead now" and I'm still listening to Kurts music and I very much enjoy it. You don't have to keep bringing the topic up every year to remember Kurt. All you got to do is listen to his music and remember him that way.

And yes I meant to say idol instead of idle. Got mixed up between the two of them as I usually do...
