The only way the western states will realise the power of iran is if it cuts its one vital contribution to the world.

Without oil the world would grind to a halt. Iran + The mideast should take a stand because the have been exploited for so long.

since 9/11 The media , America (+ its allies) have treated Iran like sh*t when it is actually one if the area's in the mideast which is making progress for a sustainable "democracy"( as set out by america , a superb "role model").

Saddam halts Iraqi oil exports for 30 days
    Last updated: 08-04-02, 11:52

Saddam Hussein has announced Iraq will stop oil exports for 30 days or until Israel withdraws from Palestinian territories.

The oil minister said the move took effect as Saddam spoke during a nationally televised speech.

Libya has come out in support of Iran's call for oil-producing nations to halt supplies to Israel's Western allies.

The official news agency, JANA, reports a government official as saying: "The great Jamahiriya [Libyan republic] supports Iran's call to stop oil supplies to countries that back the Zionist entity."

The report said that such a step, if supported by other Arab and Islamic oil-producers, would "stop the Zionist train of death in Palestine".

On Friday, Iranian supreme leader Mr Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said Islamic countries should stop supplying oil for one month to countries with close relations with Israel.

But two other oil producers, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, have opposed the idea of using oil as a weapon.
