Unfortunately it still works out cheaper buying from the uk on the majority of stuff (GF2 Ultra £190 stg scan)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 674 ✭✭✭Stonemason

Your right there is a big jump but as i said before we arnt able to buy everything so what we did was buy 1 top of the range and the rest was based on most of the intrest being in gf2 mx the idea being we can get most things and this is only ment to be an idea of what we can cover. As for better spec showing will do the reason its not listed better is because i was working until 1am last night and was trying to just get some kind of webpage up in a hurry(this will be addressed). As for buying cheaper in the uk i think its abit rich to pick one item and damn us for that if you look at say overclockers uk they had kt7a raid boards listed at £163(vat?)now add £20 p+p then add 20% exchange rate i think youll find our price of £174 pretty good not to mention we are in ireland if you get a dud.You look again you will note most of our prices are cheaper or the same as the best in ireland and alot of uk sites can offer which is bloody good considering our size we dont have the buying power of bigger companys and we can still do most things cheaper.

What are the steps that need to be taken in order to place an order.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,333 ✭✭✭Celt

    Oh i know stone
    1) You are a business, there has to be some profit.
    2) Your still cheapest in ireland for most parts
    3)Prices change fast.
    4)Your irish, easy and fast.
The only thing i was saying, was this:
There are quite a few parts, that even when you factor in all the above are still worth buying online from the UK.

    Ok

I admit that the webpage isnt and wasnt ever ment to be a "proper" page for the bussiness it was just a combination of frustration of trying to upload to eircom and the boards? and exitement about starting this thing that led me to post a price list (not to mention the e-mails we got asking about the price of this and the price of that). As far as looking for a free lunch whitelancer you must have no idea about bussiness if you beleive we will be able to compete whith the world in general the truth is the web is a great way of finding great deals there are people trying to shift old stock there are people who put up there cost prices by mistake even those those that get rid of stolen goods online there are another thousand reason for prices being way way cheaper than us but at the end of the day we do a very good price on most items and not only that when it comes down to it i personaly would prefer to buy in ireland not because im a rabid nationalist but, because though i might be able to get a T/bird 1gig axia for 10p from korea waiting three months and hopeing to god it works when it gets here just doesnt do it for me.
Please bear in mind this bussiness was started because i was sick of seeing normal not so clued up people getting stitched up by the big bussines`s in this country. We have managed to find a balance between profit and fairplay which im am happy with and i hope many people will benefit from this.

ok, perhaps you should have posted your proposed components range before heading over.

theres a bit of a jump from the geforce2 mx to the geforce2 ultra.

I presume in time you will provide full details on each components, and pictures.
And hopefully you will be stocking
    7200 rpm hard drives
    decent cpu coolers
    thermal paste etc
    and loads more stuff

if the heatsink is just glued onto the chip, you need to get some epoxy, clean the old stuff off and stick it back on. ( Thermal epoxy preferably ). I think this is what you are saying..

Heheheh are you mad do they actualy make "14" monitors anymore? and as for 4/6 gig they are a dieing bread too.To be honest the lowest Hardrive we do is 20 gig (£118) the main reason is a 10 gig is only a couple of quid cheaper and as far as monitor`s go "17" is the smallest. We can get "15" But we felt that even "15" were a thing of the past smile.gif

    Stone biggrin.gif
ps drop us a line on monday (we open then )
