After reading the post about the Kazaa Spyware , I decided to
Download this Ad-Aware program and see for myself.
After going to the website , I downloaded the newest version.
When the download finished i went to the desktop ( where I
had downloaded it ) and double-clicked on the file.
The screen went grey for about 5-10 seconds and then I
was greeted with this message box stating :

"C:\windows\desktop\ could not be found
It Has Been Moved Or Deleted"

After I clicked Ok to this box , the grey screen disappeared after
a few seconds and I was left on the desktop again.
Then Explorer crashed and i was left on the desktop again.
I found this very odd and began to worry.
I double-clicked Internet Explorer and was told that
Iexplore.exe could not be found.

I then immediately restarted the machine.
Windows98 failed to load and i was left sitting on the black screen.

I went and did a DIR on the C:\ drive and was told
that the drive was completely empty and had 0 files.

At this stage i had realised what was to be done.
I reinstalled windows and all the essential progs again.

And Now here i am.

I have come to the conclusion that this bloody thing had
wiped the drive.

Anyone shed some light on why this happened or have witnessed
this happening ?

never happened 2 me before was it the official download?

sounds like u might have downloaded a virri cause a setup wont do that (depending on what setup system they use)

Come to think of it i'm not sure if it was the official download.
What the URL where it can be found ?

Yup , thats the site i downloaded it from.
I downloaded the newest version (the one that says "New" beside it )
The File was called "aaw.exe".
