No Animated Signature Images

Please remove animated images from your signatures, thanks. (Don't make me put something nasty in your signature!)

Original rules follow...

First off, the file size - try and limit it to 15k at the very most.

Second, images should be no larger than 60 x 360 pixels.

Thirdly, no animated images (I think my previous rule was no "highly animated images" - this wasn't working).

Remember, if the image signature facility is abused, it will have to be reverted to text signatures.

Since we have enabled images in people's signatures, I would like to suggest the following guidelines be strictly followed in order to ensure that your signature image does not impede the enjoyment of others.

1. Please keep any and all signature images to a maximum size of:

HEIGHT: 60 px
WIDTH: 360 px
SIZE: 15k or less

2. Please make sure that your signature images DOES NOT contain profanity, bigotry, racism, or any other content that might be considered offensive by others.

3. While we do not come out and suggest that this site is "family friendly" in nature, we do not want this to be interpreted as an open floodgate for sensitive material. IF WE GET A COMPLAINT, IT WILL BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY.

I am hoping by making this compromise that we will, in fact, be able to appease almost everyone. However, if the times comes that things start to get out of control, we will have to discontinue this policy.

I wholeheartedly endorse this product and/or service

bout time too....some of them are bloody annoying. I don't want to turn off the sigs though as some are quite good/clever.

Actually DamoDMC if I had to make one exception to the rule, it would be your sig as once it changes it stays changed, and it is nice and slow. Unfortunately we can't rely on everyone to be as considerate as you.

Thanks for those nice words John, but out of consideration for the rules, I wont change it back. Better to inforce it in its totality than to get someone saying later, "Hey, but his gif is movin', I'm puttin' mine back on!!"

That's like throwing out the baby with the bath water. I like my sig and it's barely 1k.

Personally I think 15k is too big. 5k should be the limit imo.

Eh, you mean 360 x 60 (length / width should always come before height), e.g. each image in your sig is 88 x 31.

as i still see them, and they are hugly irritating, but as said by someone else i dont want to disable sigs as there are some lovely onse which are very inventive
