Where exactly are those bargains?? Seems completely average, if not a tad over the odds on some stuff... Go on gimme a sample of a real knockdown 'bargain', say compared to IT Direct (http://www.itdirect.ie).

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 674 ✭✭✭Stonemason

Thats strange my calculater must be knackered coz it tells me that on say a p3 866 we are £24.82 cheaper than IT on an Athlon 1ghz (normal not Axia and are they even t/birds ?) we are £23.99 cheaper and worst of all the very same thing you were looking for a "19" monitor is £61 cheaper. Now throw in the fact we are just starting up and probably have nowhere near the buying power of bigger companys we can still manage to come out cheaper on alot of things and the same price on a few and worse on some to as i have noticed they just dropped prices on the kt7a raid boards in the last week.As i said bargins to be had

are they even tbirds? ah come on now, you are gonna have to learn how the industry works. Only the latest stuff is sold, they dont keep on making old stuff. Classic athlons went out of production ages ago. You can't buy 8x cd drives now for the same reason, they are all 48x and up

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 674 ✭✭✭Stonemason

In fairness Gerry how are we to know if they are old stock or new.If there called T/birds now then why not call them T/birds.After all were you not the one on these very boards that asked i give more info about our products smile.gif.

Are your Axia 1Ghz multiplier unclocked? Did you get them from OC UK? If they are not unlocked can you get unlocked ones?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 643 ✭✭✭Gunn4r

Mate no disrespect intended but the site could do with a few improvements, some pages are not displaying the pound symbol correctly, half of the main page is a link to http://w.c.p-computers.20m.com/To which generates a 404. Also why host it there with the banner / pop up etc? I think fair play starting up but bit more effort into the site would make a huge difference....

    I mean this constructively!

    Gunn4r

I know the site isnt up to much but i have had this discusion with gerry im hopeing to get a better site. But it all comes down to cost at the end of the day.We have had to spilt money spent on online advertising with that of more mainstream advertising ie the buy and sell and local papers(btw watch out for the add in the buy and sell on saturday)I just hope its a good un lol.llatsni what joe said hehehe.

Moriarty stone sells crucial, thats at least st £62.99 if you buy over the net and 70 in store
add £18-£20 exchange rate and then another £12 vat on top of £13 for shipping.

so you then come to the grand total of £107.99, well done moriarty you just saved yourself £13(if you buy from crucial themselfs) by buying english, going through aload of crap, waiting a week and a half to get the god damn stuff,if its ****ed up expect to be screwed by them and all for £13

wow how stupid am i for buying irish.
and before you come back at me with crap, the prices on crucial site do not include vat,
BTW technically use should pay the full 20% vat which means you would end up paying more for it the nif you buy from stone.

Thanks for the backup joe.Id also like to point out that though its only a small thing that vat paid here gos back into the irish economy rather than English goverments pocket.

Not wishing to be too much of a ***** but boards.ie prefer if you pay to advertise on their site, now this board is set up to discuss technology properly and not about start up businesses and how to get it, however if you happen to take a look at the top of the page you will find a link to the for sale board which I'm thinking would be much more appropriate, or how about you set up your own boards on your own site for such querys.

To be honest id prefer if people would e-mail us questions rather than here on the boards. I agree its getting out of hand but if some one asks me a question then i feel its only right to answer them.
