    dont let this idea die

Love it. Can I humbly offer us? (mp3 is on the website & more on the way all going well)

The list so far sounds class although I'll say it right now I'm not much of a JJ72 fan.

    Hope this becomes a reality

    cheers

Wow! Scotsman you really started something...

I am delighted Phundraiser prompted such enthusiasm for cool ways to raise cash for Phantom - Thank you.

I think there is easily enough talent for two double CD complilations. Keep sending Phantom FM your recordings ... sounds like our top dog Pete Read has some plans.

P.S. If Alison and I are able to do an autumn Phundraiser (Phundraiser 2) , who would you like to see on the bill?

Hey, I'd choose te following bands/musicians,
    Turn
    The Murder of Crows
    Ginseng
    David Kitt
    Brando
    Gemma Hayes
    Otranome
    Wilt
    The Frames
    Babelfish
    Mundy

And thats it for the moment...

anything that even resembles the first phundraiser would be good...maybe wilt, and some polar...maybe a few more surprises...

    either way...if there's a phundraiser2 i'll defo be there....

also i like the idea of us all being mentioned on the cd sleeve...

    Hello All,

forget this list and leave it up to the DJs at Phantom -

Too many bands putting themselves forward.

    other suggestion

have a good one (alternative rock/pop style) and then have an acoustic type crap one so that people don't have to suffer.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,343 ✭✭✭polarbelly

agree with ya dude... leave it to the dj's... however... i think we need to keep this post up on the first page of the message board as a reminder of what a class idea it is

Yeah people will only reply to it.. if it's in their face..
Keep this alive at all costs...mwbhahahahaha

yip agree with yaul there. Keep this thread on the first page regardless.

For the record my fav at the moment are

    Frames
    Crayonz
    blink
    jemma hayes
    la Rocca
    Babelfish
    turn
    pugwash
    polar
    :D

Great idea, great thread. I don't think people realised how many great Irish musicians we have.

    Way to go Scotsman

That's mad! Logged on 2 suggest this very thing. Best phundraising idea in a long time. Not sure that it should be restricted to Irish bands, though - you'd be leavin out stuff like the White Stripes (unless they've an Irish grandmother?), Josh Ritter and Posies, to name but two (or is that three? Too early in the morning).

Yeah, we'd be lookin at stuff like

La Rocca - 1902/Waiting in the Wings
    Mundy - Mexico
The Sundogs - Killed Her With a Song
Posies - Flavor of The Month
    Mic Christopher - Heyday
The White Stripes - Hotel Yorba
Josh Ritter - Me & Jiggs/Golden Age of Radio
    The Frames - Revelate
[That "outside looking in" song]- you know: the one by that band
And all that stuff by those bands, yeah? Should de Phantom peepl have a say? Maybe choose two or three tracks between them? It IS their CD, after all... And yeah, we get the inside cover, for sure.

Question is- will this be best of Phantom or best of Irish? Not necessarily same thing. Recommend Best of Phantom.

    best of phantom: irish style

    2.Yankie way
    3.Down under
    4.International hits

and then we could finish with a best of...combining all of the above...hmmmm

yay me. do i get something special?

ive said it before and i'll say it again- the dummer in mitwitch (dave kearney) was the son of my old principal. Had to go to my old school the other night and get some awards (for being great, no doubt :D ) and my goodness....he'd bore u to tears.

yeah i want my nickname on the inside 2

there is no good irish music... hmmmm.

what about turn, brando, bellx1 and mixtwitch the IRISH bands that you wanted on the cd...

seems a wee bit silly of you to say there is no good irish music directly after recommending 4 irish bands
