    Hey,
myself and 3 friends are at the early stage of planning a holiday to Oz. We're going for 4 weeks. We've got a rough idea about flying into Sydney, seeing the Blue mountains, then driving up the coast to Brisbane and then maybe flying to Cairns and doing the Great Barrier Reef. Very rough idea. Are there any recommendations from the group of "MUST SEE/DO" attractions? Anything to avoid seeing/doing as its a waste of time?
    thats it,
    PRenton

I would go to Sydney, do the whole city thing / bondi thing and the blue mountains.

Next head North and stop in Byron Bay, great place, visit Nimbin while you are there too and stock up on weed ;-)

As you head north I would defo skip Surfers Paradise and Brisbane is only worth a day imho.

Must do = whit sundays and frasier island. Next go to Cairns and do some great barrier reef diving and rain forest stuff.

I would then fly to Melbourne before going home ;-)

Hope this helps, if you want more detailed info email me.

definitely spend a week or two up by Cairns, try staying a bit further north though, Port Douglas is about 20 minutes further up the coast (is out on a peninsula and has a gorgeous beach) and the road up from Cairns is easily one of the most beautiful to drive on scenery wise i have ever enjoyed.
theres a train that goes from Cairns to Kuranda as well, a great market town up through the hills, a really nice journey up.
Cairns itself doesnt have too much to offer, bit boring imo, the majority of all the reef expeditions do leave from there though.

Fly into sydney. See a bit of the city.

Drive north to Blue Mountain/Hunter Valley (a fewdays)

On to Coffs Harbour (day or 2) t

    hen Byron (a few days).

Surfers next for a day or 2.

    Brisbane for a few days.

    Noosa I think is next.

    Fraser Island for 3 days,

Airlie Beach for 2 days and Whit sundays for 3 days on a boat.

Do your rafting in the tulley (while staying in Scottys of <insert name of town I have forgotten>.

Then onto Cairns for a good few days. Do some snorkelling/diving on the reef, mountain biking, bungee etc here.

Up to port Douglas/ Cap Trib for another day or 2.

Fly (Virgin Blue, use google) to Melbourne, for a few more days and

do a bit of the great ocean road and then

either on to Sydney for home or fly directly from Melbourne. That will easily fill 4 weeks.

Of course the above number of days are the min in each place. Flesh out to fill your 4 weeks.
