There may be a jumper next to the onboard graphics chip. Otherwise, install the PCI card, then disable the AGP one in the OS.

For a while manufacturers set up their Mbds to automatically turn off the onboard Vidcard when it detected a new one. 'Course this wasn't much use if you wanted to add one for multi-display.
Plug in the new card and see how it goes...
