    put simply -
is the ATI radeon 64MB card any good
i have been offered one for 200 squid.
    Anyone own this card?
how will say CS run on it FPS wise?
    Any inherent problems with it?
does it wake you up with a cup of tea?

You dont want it on win2k.
It's a good card but the best way to put it is this:
    GF is for fps freaks,
    ATI is for quality,
    3DFX was a mix.

200 squids about right, bit high considering a 64MB GTS is about the same price range and will outperform the Radeon, but a decent enough price I guess, 180 imo would be a great deal.

However if you like your 32bit textures at high res then it should do the job very nicely and with little fuss.

Umm I'd totally disagree. I own a Radeon ATI 64meg since last december and it's an excellant card. I get constant 99-100 fps in CS under win2k. This card performs brilliantly and I wouldn't even think about getting a Geforce.

I've owned two ATI cards and disliked them both. Had the All-in-wonder 128 and then the Radeon AIW - both times the drivers were buggy and caused all sorts of problems. I would stay clear from ATI... Buy a cheap GeForce 2 card and you'll have a lot less problems.

I've got the lowest level Radeon - it's a sweet card - minimum 40fps in CS (when there's fights and stuff) - normally 55ish.

They are a good card and are a good option for someone who doesn't have the cash for a GeForce 2.

    All the best!
