    Sorry about the dodgy directions, can't get a direct link to work

    http://www.eircom.ie -> At Home -> Internet -> Better Value Online -> Circle Of Friends

    Haven't seen this mentioned here before so I figured I'd bring it up, 10% off - need every bit of it once I'm kicked off SNL tomorrow

    If its anything like BTs Friends/relatices deals then internet (1891) calls are excluded.

    Hopefully its not though.

    That's been around for ages.

    Just go into where you pay your bill and you can set it up. You're probably able to set it up over the phone aswell.
    You don't have to do everything online.

    Some alternate Dialups can be used

    Eircom -> 01 2171101
    Indigo -> 01 6047000
    IOL -> 01 6624777

    if you do decide to use circle of friends

    I think I read some info on it, that said you were allowed one 1891 number, but I could be wrong.

    They allowed me use a 1891 number on it when I signed up ... years ago.

    As far as I remember, the phone number to call to sign up then was 1800 150 150. It's in the front of your phone books people.

    Are the 1891 numbers cheaper ALL the time or only at peak times?

    As far as I know, it's only peak times, so it wouldnt make a difference to most ppl to use the proper local numbers, as they are on most at off peak times.

    Going by the Eircom site you're right 1891 2p per min on-peak as opposed to 4p, off-peak both are 1p

    Currently, 1891 access is cheaper at all times - .76p per min vs .99p per min off-peak.

    Unfortunately those dialups are charged at local rates i.e. 20% more than a 1891 number, thus negating the point of so doing.

    What are the numbers for 1891 access?

    Looks like they have rounded to the nearest penny there, without telling anyone. Try Advice Centre > Call Calculator > "Over 60% of calls to be halved in price".
