Granada Breeze Closes tonight [NTL:]

According to Digital Spy,
Granada Breeze, who have recently ceased transmissions on Sky Digital & Telewest will stop broadcasting completely this evening at 9pm from ntl.

So what new channel do ntl digital viewers have to look forward to? BBC Choice? ITV2? UK Gold? PlayUK?

Hopefully not some crappy shopping channel! ntl urgently need to improve their digital line up with some quality channels if they want to attract decent numbers to their service.....

While I wont miss a channel I never once watched, the commings and goings in the last few months on both analogue and digital
are a cause for concern, today saw the ending of TV5 on analogue in favour of E4, which muppet thought of that?

As for the channel that might replace Breeze, it won't, I presume
be Eurosport! Mores the pity...another proper channel would be nice like BBC 4 or Choice or even Red Hot Dutch...er...:eek:

The fact of the matter is, E4 will have alot more viewers than TV5 ever had.
TV5 is a specialist channel and since it is in a foreign language will have never been watced by many people.

E4, whilst not being the most amazing of channels, does carry very popular american sitcoms (which I cannot stand) and will have Big Brother on all over summer. The latter has been extremely popular in previous years on Channel 4, and I can imagine the round the clock version on E4 will generate even more interest over here this year.

It's a good idea for ntl as it's one less reason to get Sky Digital. One more reason to get ntl digital for TV5 also!

By the looks of it, NTL aren't aware that the channel has stopped broadcasting. It's still available on the epg, only showing black though. Normally NTL would remove the channel totally. Weird.
