OK, I've got 2 hard disks one with Linux and one with windoze. I'm getting the second one installed very soon. What I want to know is will the computer boot of the master(windoze probly) and ignore the slave? I can't partition any of the disks because my version of windoze is FAT 32
    What should I do?

one drive is not enough when you have an annoying habit of reformatting every couple of months. any takers?
    cheers

    Here's my two cents:

FAT 32 is a File Allocation Table.
It's used in win 98 and my version of 95.
It's just a way of packing data into little blocks, the smaller the blocks the less space wasted because when you use a bit of one block you can't use the rest of it.
FAT 32 has smaller blocks than FAT 16.

You should defny partition a 12G HD.
Find out as much as you can about partitioning first tho, you could lose EVERYTHING on the computer
    and tha's not nice.
Any taker's on the first post?

when you install the second drive - you take off all the jumpers to make it the slave. Windoze boots off the master but it will see the slave from within wondows. If you have software (comes with most seagate, quantim ect drives or on the net)to format and install the drive all the better. reformat the disks as NTFS then (its the default in win 95) you will loose 150 - 200 megs over 4 gig. Which isent that bad.

WWman - why do you reformat every couple of months - can you backup to cd or whatever (easier)

Errrm, to partition your drive without deleting stuff or formating HD. Use Partition Magic 4. Available in most good warez sites =)

u can set that in Linux. can remeber where but u can tell Linux (red hat at least) to set 1 as default. They will both come up at start so u can choose but the default will load after a set amount of time.

    Snowball.

Another sign in name ... he ... whats new.....
