what are the good and bad points of having filters on library internet access?

I would be interested to hear any ideas you may have.

hmmm, I thought a "no homework" thingy was already in the charter thread. Must have been thinking of the programming board. ah well.

I haven't used filters for a few years, so I presume that the technology has improved... The last time I did we couldn't connect to any political websites or newspapers, as words like 'socialist' or 'communist' were on the 'bad list'
