    Following a request from Mike65, I have a question- What are your favourite World cup/football records? My favourites-


    1. Ossie's Dream- Spurs/Chas and Dave 1981

    2. Yer Man- Dana/NI World Cup squad 1982

    3. Put 'em Under Pressure- Republic of Ireland 1990

    Come on lads (and maybe a few girls!) Why is there no interest in my questions? Ok, £1,000-or the equivalent figure in Euros- to the first person to answer!!

    Favourite fooball songs? Favourite ways to die?!

    Not much between them...I'd have to say Three Lions by Skinner, Badiell and the Lightning Seeds chappie. It has an actual tune and was lyrically clever (and recylcable! :D ).

    Rule 143, sub-section B clearly states- and I quote-


    "No citizen of Waterford City or County is eligible for any cash prizes which may, from time to time, be given on this forum, as the current administration DETESTS people from this city and county"

    The former being my favourite.

    Carnival de Paris (although it was a terrace chant on the continent first)
    World In Motion (New Order, 1990)

    And "We're Gonna Start a Fire" from Ireland 1990. This was a genius take on "We Didn't Start the Fire" by Billy Joel, and should have been re-recorded for this world cup with refreshed lyrics.

    Eh, you'd probably have had more success if you had posted this on the soccer board rather than here. From my own experience the majority of people interested enough in music to bother posting on the internet don't really give a toss about football or football songs in particular.

    As for fav's I would pick
    1. World in Motion by New Order (even if it is for the 'auld enemy' :) )
    2. Strachan by The Hitchers (too cool for this planet!)

    It has to be put 'em under pressure from italia '90 that was a great cover of dearg dorm....

    Although Joxer goes to Stuttgart from Christy Moore is excellent too.
