Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Had a fellow call to the door the other day trying to sell me a water filter system for tap water. Its supposed to clean out clorines and other sh*t that the water authoriths add into the water. For €4 a week, the will fit the system for 4 and come twice a year to change the filter. Wasn't at my freshest when he called so i forgot to grill him properly.

    Anyone know anything about this.

You can get filters plumbed into you kitchen sink if you want, like a more fixed version that the jug filters you get. The water generally does taste nicer (think about it, the water has probably come 10 miles since it was originally filtered at the water plant).

Coffee shops use these filters to prevent their machines being blocked by built up solids from the water (like the scale in a kettle, but on a commercial 'scale'). I can't remember the name of the company that makes these filters.

They might also be useful in rural areas that are dependant on wells.

€200 a year sounds expensive, especially if there is an installation charge. Sounds like you are paying for the salesman.

The advice is (from a public health point of view) that tap water (water is fresher and chlorine kills the bacteria on an ongoing basis) is generally safer than bottled water (bacteria can build up in storage).

Get a britta filter in Dunnes or something for 12 Euro , you can change the filter yourself every couple of months , they are very good and the difference is very noticeable. We live in D6 and the water quality to me seems a bit bad, always some googie or other floating around in there?

    I have one of them....but the hassle :)... i am a lasy b@stard ;)

This thing ur man was offering was a complete package....they'd add an extra tap to your sink and it would be filtered water. Sounds brilliant, but the price is a bit much. Although when spend a lot on bottled water it doesn't sound that bad (€4) but i have my doubts about bottled water aswell.
