    Friends:

Yes, it's true. We've decided to end The Parking Lot is Full.

The decision wasn't an easy one, but it was really the only decision we could have possibly made. It's frightening to think about the expanse of time from the publication of the first PLIF comic, in 1993, to the present day. So much has changed for us, both personally and artistically, over that period, but the comic was there for all of it. PLIF documented our various experiences. It helped shape them as well.

Why end the comic now? PLIF was the perfect vehicle for the post-adolescents we were -- it had a short attention span, was sharp, and, most of all, vicious; never dwelling on any thought for too long but totally at the mercy of its own fixations; angry at the world for letting us all down. As 30 year olds, the two of us have basically outgrown both the form and the content of the comic... which is not to say that we've suddenly become serious, nor it is to say we've lost our twisted sense of humor. Not at all. It's just that what you could call the PLIF aesthetic has evolved and has to be expressed in somewhat different ways.

So, that's it. We've enjoyed creating the comic and we've enjoyed coming into contact with our readers as well. All of our comics (and most other content of this web site) will continue to stay up indefinitely. Moreover, while PLIF may be finished, as authors, we are not. Somewhere, sometime, you will see... something. From one of us. Or both of us. It may be like PLIF, or it may be something completely different, but chances are that if you've liked what we've done on this comic, you will probably like what will come after. Stay tuned.

Thank you to our friends and supporters, and to all the people who have helped the strip over the years. Thank you for reading us. We hope that we've occasionally deserved it. Until we meet again, remember: the parking lot is full.

If God hadn't wanted us to eat animals, he wouldn't have made them out of food.
