I see this on a lot of application forms. I never know what to put down. I think its a pain in the a ss. How do people deal with this question?

without reading the whole thread again (im sure i posted to it)...
I think be truthful! But consider everything you get in your current position.. not just salary but benefits etc too! And say this is what i earn now and i would expect no less than this. You can also see what other companies offer for a similar position with similar experience to your own and off that as the market average and thats your expectation!
