Tribes 2

I just got this recently.
And having a bit of trouble with it.
I have never played 1 so any"1 is better" replies mean nothing to me
I think tribes 2 is a cracking idea for a game and plays rather well i think.
But how come ppl move like rockets are up their arse and i plod along ,one guy said somfin about "scripts"?????
At the start of a level i would always follow a group on attack but they are like WHOOSHH and gone while i gently jog and fly behind em ,i have skiing kinda sussed its the running and jumping mountains at high speed i cant do ?
Anyone know why everyone is way faster than me?
And why do i start with a gatty blaster and few other crappy weapons and other ppl massacre me with massive rocket launchers and machine guns ?

RTFM mate .

You buy weapons at inventory stations.

You go faster by ski'ing properly.

Umm cant you only ski downhill hence Skiing????
And where are these inventory things in game or in the browser menus??

If i dont ask i`ll never know

its all explained in the manuals and the training missions.
